Solutions: A good self start
April 2004

Anyone can point out problems and if you read all the articles that are presented in this web-site you will see that we as a nation and the world as a whole have a potential disaster on our hands, the proverbial train wreck staring us in the face. But what about solutions?
I saw posted on a reader board once that there are over 30 million laws in this country (my guess is this includes codes, ordinances and regulations also).  This is killing us.
Unfortunately we have become a regulating society instead of sticking to an educational based society. A large number of laws seem to be written without any thought to their moral or ethical consequences. Most laws that are written today appear to be loopholes for some special interest group or as feel good unfunded mandates. While this will make a large number of situations legal, it does not make them morally or ethically correct.
There is one book that has been published with all the solutions to all the problems that we as a society could possibly come up with; it addresses the problems from a moralistic view, and is very educational, it is the Bible. All the rules necessary for a smooth running world are contained in less than 15 pages, but because humans had a hard time with this Jesus condensed these rules to fewer than 50 words; love your God with all your heart, all your mind and all your soul. His next commandment was to treat other people, as you want to be treated, which is a rather simple philosophy with profound effects. (Unfortunately, people have a difficult time with simple solutions also.)
The founders of this nation studied intently in this book from which came the 27 biblical violations, which are the backbone of the Declaration of Independence.
George Washington made a practice of reading the Bible and meditating with God daily. Thomas Jefferson called the Bible the cornerstone for American liberty then put it in our schools as a light. James Madison stated “We’ve staked our future on our ability to follow The Ten Commandments with all our hearts.”
Washington said, “You can’t have national morality apart from religious principle.” Abe Lincoln said, “The philosophy of the schoolroom in one generation will be the philosophy of government of the next.”
Eliminating the Word of God from the classroom and politics imperils the nation that Word protects.
If you would like good insight into the Bible call (901)-382-7900 and order “God’s Way to Health, Wealth and Wisdom,” and/or 1-800-800-3222 and order “Principles of Christian stewardship.”
Please don’t trust others to tell you what is in the Bible, read it for yourself.
